PEST CONTROLWe control the infestation of fleas, bed bugs, fish moths, dust mites, ticks, carpet beetles, lice and cockroaches. We all have unwanted, unwelcome creepy crawlies that decide to make their homes inside our homes. Some can be seen and some cannot, we control the infestation of these creatures in your carpets, rugs, mattresses, upholstery and bathrooms, making sure that your home is only open to guests welcomed by you. BED BUGSThe bed bug is an insect of the family, "Cimicidae", that lives by feeding off the blood of humans and other warm-blooded hosts. Its name comes from its preffered habitat: mattresses, sofas and other furniture. Although not strictly nocturnal, bed bugs are generally active at night when their preffered hosts are asleep. CARPET BEETLE AND LARVACapet beetles are small black beetles with a wide-ranging diet. They have been known to cause household damage due to their feeding habits. Carpet beetle feed on animal substances such as wool, fur, feathers, hair, hides, silk, velvet, and bone as well as seeds, grains and cereals. Other substances include powdered milk, dog and cat food, and even cotton, linen, rayon and jute, especially when stained with spilled food and animal excreta. The larva cause damage crawling from room to room, and living behind base boards, heating systems and moulding. Feeding damage often occurs under heavy furniture and at carpet edges. DUST MITES
The house dust mite is a cosmopolitan guest in human habitation. Dust mites feed on organic detritus, such as flakes of shed human skin and flourish in the stable environmental dwellings. House dust mites are a common cause of asthma and allergic symptoms worldwide. Some of the gut ezymes produced by the house dust mite presist in their faecal matter and can be strongly allergenic. COCKROACHES
There are about 4,000 species of cockroaches, of which 30 species are associated with human habitations and about 4 species are well known pests. They feed on pet and human food and can leave a offensive odour, they can also passively transport microbes on their body surfaces, including those that are potentially dangerous to humans. Cockroaches have been shown to be linked to allergic reactions in humans. One of the proteins that triggers allergic reactions has been identified as tropomyosin. These allergens have also found to be linked with asthma. FLEAS
Fleas is the common name for insects of the order "Siphonaptera", which are wingless insects whose mouthparts are adapted for peircing skin and sucking blood. Fleas are external parasites living off the blood of mammals. LICE
As lice spend their entire lives on their host, they have developed adaptations which enables them to maintain close contact with their host. Most lice have relatively simply chewing mouthparts, but in some, they are highly adapted for peircing and sucking. Most lice are scavengers, feeding on skin and other debris found on the hosts body, but some species feeds on sebaceous secretions and blood. Humans host three different types of lice, head lice, body lice (which live mainly in clothing) and pubic lice. Body lice lay their eggs in clothing or upholstery.
